Although the origin of this image was initially birthed in erotica and fetishism, I managed to capture a far more moving and tragic moment in this portrayal of a transsexual crucifixion. Exploring the ” bound reality “ of many women, I readily admit that the context of this image comes from a very personal place and the ready metaphor clearly springs from my lived experience and my feminism. Rejection, exclusion, trapped in misogyny and transphobia, I communicate the pathos and grace of this experience in her piece, Damned.
